They no longer allow you to download directly from the server. :-DAs you can see, Logic has been updated through the AppStore since version 10 However, I'm just not certain if it was properly updated, that is all. Mine did to, just weird the way it updates now, your good though

Like I said, in the past software update didn't work properly for some people so Apple always had a place where you can d/l updates. *I* asked because, in short, my updater behaved like it never had and I'm questioning whether I was updated properly. USED to, long time ago before the Apple Store took over
It would to be someone that uses a MIDI volume pedal all the time to be able to appreciate how much of a PITA this is!Īpple 'used' to, I guess, have a page where you can download software besides via software update. Anyone out there willing to chime in and help me solve this? Whether creating a transform to turn CC7 data into, say, CC11, or whatever, I've already tried that too and it hasn't made any difference. I really do like Logic and am quite used to it now (from DP and PT), but the cc7 volume pedal issue is driving me nuts and makes it very hard for me to keep using the program as it is. I've tried the same Studiologic keyboard and volume pedal setup in DP, Cubase and PT and all of them behave normally, volume curves and overall response is smooth and as it should be without having to do anything, and the controller data looks smooth, linear, even and everything behaves as it should by default, without me having to do anything in particular.

I don't know if it's a cc7 scaling problem that Logic has, or that the data is region-based and it has to reset itself with each new region so Logic is always chasing cc data, perhaps even when it shouldn't be? Often, in order to see the cc7 data properly in order to smooth it out, I have to join regions so that I can reset all the curves and re-draw the data into a continuous left to right linear fashion.ĭoes anyone, particularly those that do lots of string, wind and brass programming and uses a MIDI volume pedal know how to fix this? And if I look at the data in the piano roll, it's all jagged, jumps all over the place and requires smoothing by hand, which is tedious and takes too much time to have to do this on every pass/region.
I've looked at all of the MIDI filtering options, but whenever I use a bit of volume pedal as I'm playing a part, I get a stuttery, really bad, grating, stepping, uneven sound. Whether to add some realism with crescendo/diminuendo with orchestral parts, or even to give a part a more realistic attack envelope by fading in quickly, and generally to add dynamics to most parts I play in and far each note naturally. I use a Studiologic VP26 volume pedal with my Studiologic 88-note controller (VK88) for pretty much everything. Someone tried answering this a while back, but I couldn't get definitive answer on how to fix the problem.

Every time I install a new Logic update, I keep hoping that my cc7 MIDI volume pedal issue is fixed, but it isn't.
